So, it's nine in the morning and I've just been laying here on my bed since six o' clock. I'm bored and famished, but there's nothing to eat or do.
I walk downstairs to get some breakfast. I look around the kitchen: in the cupboards, the fridge, and the counters. I find nothing, there's no eggs, bread, or cereal.
"What am I going to eat?" I say. "There's basically nothing!"
I turn around, that's when I see our Vegan cookbook. I flip through it, flip, flip, and flip. Something catches my eye, it's a chocolate chip pancake recipe. I check the ingredients, no eggs or dairy needed. We have everything.

2 cups flour
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil
2 cups soymilk
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add the soymilk and oil and mix until well combined, then add in the chocolate chips and stir.
Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a hot greased griddle and cook approximately 3 minutes on each side.
Cook time- 6 minutes
Prep time- 5 minutes
Total time- 11 minutes
I follow the directions, and soon enough I have some delicious pancakes. I drop all four of the pancakes onto my plate and head over to the table. I sit down and dig in.
"This is delicious!" I exclaim.
I look down at my plate, everything is gone. I check the time, 11:30, I have to get dressed, and fast. I run back upstairs, into my room, and to the dresser. I find a t-shirt, some jeans, and sneakers. I hurry to get dressed.
I check the time again, it's 11:45 now.
"I gotta go!" I scream.
I run downstairs and out the door to Annie's house.
As soon as I get to Annie's door, I saw Ellie and Annie.
"Ellie!" I yell. "Time to go home!"
"But, I don't want to go, Rosie!" Ellie yells back.
"You have to Ellie, Mom said so." I tell her.
"OK." she says. "Bye, Annie!"
We walk back home, two blocks away.
"Ellie, want some pancakes?" I ask her.
"Yes, please, Rosie!" she exclaims.
"OK, as soon as we get home I'll make you some." I say.
We stop.
"Yay! Yay!" She screams as she jumps up and down.
"Wait, what kind?" she ponders.
"Chocolate chip." I inform her.
We start walking again. Two minutes later, we're home.
"OK, come with me to the kitchen." I tell Ellie.
She nods.
We walk inside and to the kitchen.
i point at the table. " Go sit down." I say.
11 minutes later, there's another batch of pancakes ready to go.
"How many do you want?" I ask Ellie.
She puts up three fingers.
"Okay." I reply.
I put three for her on one plate, and three for me on another plate. I put them down on the table and sit down.
"Dig in!" I say.
"Yummy!" she exclaims, her mouth full.
Just like before, they were gone in ten minutes. We both got up, and went to rinse off our plates.
I rushed upstairs and yelled "I'll be upstairs if you need anything!".
Okay, I'm back! Today's been a long day! It's already 3:00 PM, but it feels like six. Mom should be back soon.
I think I'm going to take a nap.
Bye!
